Shipping and Returns

At present, Household Essentials only ships to the contiguous United States. We apologize for any inconvenience.

HOUSEHOLDESSENTIAL.COM: Orders are received by our shipping warehouse the day after they are placed on the  Once they are in our warehouse and payment has been received, they are shipped out based upon your selected shipping method. 

Shipping Methods
Items ordered from are shipped via FedEx.  The FedEx shipping options available to you are determined by your shipping destination and the items in your cart. 

OVERNIGHT: FedEx delivers orders the next day. 

Overnight Shipping Disclaimer
"Overnight" means that FedEx delivers the item the day after they get it in hand.  FedEx received orders the day after they are placed initially, just like our warehouse.  So an order placed for "overnight delivery" on Monday will be received and shipped out on Tuesday and delivered on to you on Wednesday.  We apologize for the confusion this will undoubtedly cause.  We strongly encourage ordering in advance to allow ample time for delivery.

STANDARD: FedEx delivers via normal shipping and processing times.
SMART POST: FedEx picks up and attaches tracking information, then it sends the order on to your residence through the USPS.

Smart Post Disclaimer
Because Smart Post uses the USPS for delivery, your delivery address when using Smart Post needs to be one that gets USPS delivery.  If your home address does not receive USPS delivery, please choose Standard or Overnight delivery instead to ensure your order's delivery.

Shipping Cost
Shipping Cost is determined by the carrier (FedEx).  Some items may have additional shipping fees due to their size, weight, or quantity. Again, these are set by FedEx. 

Shipping Promotions and FREE SHIPPING
Free Shipping offer is only available online. You will receive free shipping when your merchandise subtotal matches or exceeds the advertised price. Free shipping is valid on deliveries to the continental US only. This offer has no cash value. Household Essentials reserves the right to terminate this offer or change these terms at any time and without notice. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Transit Time
Please understand that we are not responsible for service transit time once an order leaves our warehouse. Transit times, estimates, and actual deliveries are provided by the carrier, exclude weekends and holidays, and may vary with package destination.  This is especially true during peak shipping periods (like holidays).  Simply put, we can send it out the door, but after that, it is in FedEx's hands.

You can estimate your orders arrival by knowing the typical handling time and the delivery times of the shipping services offered.  You can (and should) follow your order with the tracking information provided to you.  “Business days” are normal weekdays. Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays do not count as business days, so you’ll want to keep them in mind as you determine the earliest delivery date you should reasonably expect your delivery.

If your product does not arrive within your expectation window, please review your package tracking number, and give us a call.  We are here to help as best we can.

Risk of Loss
All items purchased from Household Essentials are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier.
Returns, Refunds, and Titles
If you decide your purchase is not a keeper, return it within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price, minus the original shipping fees and a 20% restocking fee. Please contact us for a RETURN AUTHORIZATION before returning product. Returns without an Return Authorization may not be processed correctly. Returned items must be in their original packaging. For damaged or defective merchandise, please contact customer service at 800-922-5524.

If you purchased your Household Essentials products from another retailer—online or in a store—you’ll need to contact that retailer directly.  Since we didn’t sell it to you and have no access to your purchase record (even if we shipped it to you), we cannot handle returns or refunds. 
Household Essentials does not take title to returned items until the item arrives at our fulfillment center. At our discretion, a refund may be issued without requiring a return. In this situation, Household Essentials does not take title to the refunded item.
All prices listed on the web site are in US dollars. All transactions are processed in US dollars.
