Ironing board cover
4 of 5 Posted by: Cheryl Mundroff on 02/18/2017
This item was as described. It appears to be a well made cover. It did not come with a batting pad as my previous covers did but I will buy some batting and cut it to the right size. I will say that it did take me about 10 minutes to wrestle it onto the board. It did not pop off once in place. I would order it again and unless you have arthritic hands I would recommend it.
HHE Reply:Thank you for the review. The batting is sewn into the cover, so it's one-piece, which is easy to miss! The standard covers, like this one, have a 6mm foam pad. If you prefer the fiber batting, you might prefer our deluxe models that have 4mm fiber batting sewn in. The Ultra or Ultra Plus have even more cushion, 6 mm fiber and 6 mm fiber + 6 mm foam, respectively. Again, all are sewn inside the cover so the cover and pad are one piece (much less slipping!). Thank you for your review and your purchase. We appreciate both. -
Fit Could Be Better

My only criticism of this ironing board cover is the skimpy cut. It is supposed to fit a standard board 53-54 in. long and 14-15 in. wide. My board is exactly 53 in. long by 15 in. wide. I had a terrible time trying to get it on! I'm worried that it will shrink when I wash it since it is 100% cotton. I like the silicone finish on the fabric that helps the iron glide easily. (My old cover had this feature, and I had a difficult time finding a new one like it.) The foam lining makes a nice padded surface, and the construction seems well done. I just wish the fit were not so skimpy.
HHE Reply:I'm sorry you were disappointed with the cover's fit. If you haven't already, try refitting by setting the cover on the nose first, and then stretching the cover along the board, running your hands along the edge of the board as you finally pull it over the end and into place. You can improve fit in an area by using your hands to sort of press and pull the cover along, working it almost like you would a pie crust. It's not pulling at the hem, but pushing from where there is more to where there is less, always working along the edges of the board. You can also give it a good iron and then do the pie-stretching technique! On washing and shrinking: please do not "wash", i.e., submerge in water, the cover. It is a "damp-wipe" cover and pad that should stay mostly dry and only be spot cleaned. Getting the cover and pad overly wet or using too harsh of cleaners can distress the pad and damage the silicone coating on the cover.
