Weight Capacity: (per line) 12-15 lbs / (overall) approx. 50 lbs
There are 2 knobs on the sides of the case. Tighten the lines with knob that looks like a gear (knob B), and then turn the smooth knob on the other side of the case (knob A) to lock the lines. If just one line is off, you can remove the cover on the handle (pop off the end cap and the cover slides off) and retie lines one at a time (just make sure it is retied the same way it was tied the first time).
How to Tighten Lines
There will be some sag in clotheslines always. They should never be so tight that there is no give. We do recommend installing the unit 6 feet high to account for dip. There are also things likes clothesline props, which are used with many free standing models to help hold up longer lines.
Set Up Options
The 15-7 has 2 set-up options. Which you choose, and how your space is laid out, will decide if you need to purchase the #42-0 Assembly Pole in addition to the retractable dryer.
Mount the dryer and the receiver bracket to opposite flat surfaces, i.e., walls. Just make sure the wall materials are strong enough to support the weight of the dryer, lines, and wet clothes! Visit your local hardware store to find the appropriate hardware (bolts, screws, etc.) for your mounting surface.
Option 1: Wallmount Dryer and Receiver Bracket
Common installations: Basements, Laundry rooms, Porch
When a second wall isn't available, the #42-0 assembly pole (sold separately from the dryer or with the #157420 set) can be used to anchor the receiving bracket. Again, the main unit should be mounted to a strong wall or strong wooden post (as in a sturdy deck railing). The assembly post is only used to mount the receiving bracket, which is included in the #15-7.
Option 2: Combination Wallmount Dryer and Free-Standing Receiver Bracket
Common Installations: Outdoors, Decks, Patios, Yards

Great Product

Clothesline looks good in photo. This is our third one. However, it takes a while to get all the lines tight enough so they don’t hang too loose for my laundry. Could not remove the receiver bracket from the pole and replace it with new one. Most likely the thread of the screw is worn.

good product

When we bought our house, it came with a very old clothesline like this and we have used it for 12 years now, but it finally quit working so we ordered this one. I like that it is light and easy to use and mostly works quite well. My only complaint is that the old one used a lever to tighten the lines and it worked really well and was easy for me. This one has a knob which you turn and it's very hard for me to get them as tight as I'd like. Otherwise, I'm enjoying using it.
Great Product
3 of 5 Posted by: Gail on 06/05/2020It arrived with a pretty good size dent in it. It probably happened in the shipping and handling and not while the product was made so it's probably not a fair review.
